The Avet MXJ 5.8 G2 Conventional Reel is a lightweight yet powerful lever drag reel designed for serious saltwater anglers. Built from precision machined 6061 T-6 marine-grade aluminum with stainless steel components, the MXJ G2 delivers exceptional durability, smooth performance, and corrosion resistance for both inshore and offshore fishing applications.
The redesigned true one-piece frame provides increased rigidity while maintaining an efficient strength-to-weight ratio. Equipped with a powerful lever drag system and adjustable strike preset, the MXJ G2 offers smooth and consistent drag performance through Avet’s reliable dry carbon fiber Avedrag system. The integrated ratcheting glide plate allows for controlled drag adjustments during demanding fights.
Internally, the reel features precision-machined stainless steel gears and Avet’s patented silent dog and gear anti-reverse system, redesigned with additional engagement teeth to minimize handle back-play.
