Winthrop Ferrule Adapter Kit With Locking Nut

New for 2025, Winthrop has developed a butt adapter piece to help with transitioning rod blades to larger butt options.

Perfect for reels and butts with multiple uses, these adapters allow you to take a smaller ferrule on a rod blade, and use them in a larger butt. We recommend only converting down one size (ie. #4 to #2, or #6 to #4).

A good example of a real life application for this piece, is for anglers fishing with a dredge boom with their Lindgren Pitman on a #6 butt. While their dredge boom has a #6 ferrule, many of their preexisting sword rods have a #4 ferrule. This adapter allows them to remove the dredge boom from their #6 butt if they want to start deep dropping, and put their #4 ferrule into their #6 butt using the adapter so there is no need to move the Lindgren Pitman over to a #4 butt.
